Greentrees was founded in 1988 by my parents Marilyn and Murray Hauer. For over three decades, Marilyn worked as a teacher, director and school district administrator. My father Murray had a long successful career in business. After their respective retirements, they watched their community flourish around them, and felt there was a need for a school like Greentrees; building on strong values, skills and a discerning knowledge of what pre-school age children need. Utilizing the vast knowledge and philosophies they developed in their careers, they opened Greentrees.
As the (now retired) Director of Education, Marilyn set the tone and standard of education at Greentrees and put a strong emphasis on creativity as one of the building blocks of learning. As a third-generation family member to be involved in education, I joined Greentrees in 1989. When my mother retired a couple of years ago, she proudly passed the responsibility of the school to me. As such, I am now the proud Owner and Executive Director, managing the day-to-day business operations and all tasks required to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for current families as well as future ones.
Carefully selected staff members are highly trained, sensitive, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who provide an enriching, nurturing classroom environment. Many of Greentrees’ teachers have taught at the school for over 10 years.
Thank you for taking the time to consider the Greentrees Country Day School and Camp for your child. I am happy to present to you our website showcasing our school. I encourage you to call our office with any questions or concerns you may have, as well as to schedule a tour of Greentrees.
